Here is another one of my favorite songs by the Canadian artist Dallas Green. Dallas green was in the post-hardcore band “Alexisonfire” for several years before deciding to work on his own. In 2005 he released his first album under the alias “City and Colour”. He said he chose this name because he felt uncomfortable putting the album out under his own name. He plays melodic acoustic and folk music and is often accompanied by a rotating number of Canadian indie rock musicians. His first album won Alternative Album of the Year at the 2007 Juno Awards. I’ve had the privilege of watching him perform with Alexisonfire and now look forward to seeing him in this October 16th with City and Colour.
During my time at Formula Drift I decided to do some sightseeing. There were a couple of things things that caught my eye but nothing intrigued me as much as Parker’s Lighthouse. The amount of light was low but I managed to snap a picture on my phone. I personally think this would look good as some sort of album art. Anyway, let me know what you guys think of the photo.
I thought i might share some of the music I like for those who might be interested in it. This song is by the Australian group “Hands Like Houses”. They formed in 2008 and currently have a record deal with Rise Records. I think bands like this are so much better than what is being played on the radio. I hope everyone enjoys this song as much as I do.
In preparation for my wildland firefighting course this semester at Valley College I will be hosting run/hike events at O’Melveny park in Granada Hills on Mondays and Tuesdays at 4:30 PM . The trail is roughly 3 miles long with small and intermediate hills. Anyone in and outside of the class is welcome to join me. I will be posting pictures as well as my finishing times to track my improvement in the “Fitness” section on my page. Here is a link to the LA Parks website with more information and driving directions. http://www.laparks.org/dos/parks/facility/omelvenypk.htm. Here is a photo from the mid point of the park.
Hi guys, this is a short video a few of my friends and I put together from footage we took of the 2012 Formula Drift Long Beach event. Although I’ve taken a few drift clinic events at the local racetrack in Willow Springs I had never been to a professional event before. Getting the chance to meet the drivers and watch them compete was an amazing experience for me. I am looking forward to going to this years event this April! I hope you all enjoy the video and if you have any questions as to what Formula Drift is, their schedule or even the drivers visit the formula drift website at http://www.formulad.com/
One of my favorite drivers in Formula D is making the switch from a 1990’s Nissan 240sx s13 to a new 2013 Scion Frs for this upcoming season. As some of you may know this car is a collaboration between two automotive companies, Subaru and Scion(Toyota). This car has received lots praise from the import car tuning community because of its light weight, 4 cylinder/rear wheel drive set up and because of its near 50/50 weight distribution between the front and back of the car. I am extremely excited to see how this car handles and competes against some of the other cars that have received v8 engine swaps. I hope you all enjoy the video as much as I did.
